VSET needs an aerospace engineer to work on characterizing and modeling dynamic systems. The
aerospace engineer will report directly to the senior aerospace systems engineer. The aerospace
engineer must work across multiple teams at Aevum to succeed. The ideal candidate is fluent in
mathematical model with the necessary technical background to model dynamic systems. The most
successful candidate has a strong comprehensive understanding of aircraft dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop dynamic models in C, C++, FORTRAN, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Analyze simulation data to gain insight into complicated dynamics and the underlying physics
  • Create data tables to use in engineering and development
  • Develop mathematical models
  • Visualize mathematical and dynamic models to communicate critical information to teammates
  • Design experiments and tests to anchor dynamic models and validate data
  • Conduct tests as necessary to fine tune dynamic models and achieve the necessary accuracy
  • Model and simulate air and space vehicle trajectories in a six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) framework
  • Integrate multiple flight dynamics models developed in C, C++, MATLAB, Simulink, and others

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related technical field
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in modeling dynamic aerospace systems
  • Industry experience working with 3D CAD in Solidworks, CATIA, Inventor, or other similar technology
  • Fluent knowledge of C, C++, FORTRAN, Python, VBA, or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong knowledge of incompressible and compressible fluid dynamics
  • Demonstrated success in 6DOF analysis and modeling

Preferred Skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineer, physics, mathematics, or other related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in 6DOF analysis for highly dynamic aerospace systems
  • Knowledge of integration of sensor/seeker output with guidance and control algorithms
  • Knowledge of avionics and guidance, navigation, and control (GNC)
  • Successful flight hardware development experience
